About The Book

Dr. Donald A. Pavy has found a trail of unturned stones in the controversial 1935 shooting of U.S. Senator Huey P. Long. Pavy has been a country doctor for over 40 years. He is a nephew of Judge Benjamin Henry Pavy a leading opponent of Huey Long. Dr. Pavy builds on the earlier investigations of authors Ed Reed and David Zinman. He tailors known evidence with significant new information both medical and non-medical. The same evidence sometimes comes from different sources to enhance his views. The story of an eyewitness whose life was threatened personal interviews with surviving nurses closely involved in the case the morticians story all are fully told in intriguing details. His firm conviction is that Huey Long was accidentally shot by a named bodyguard. Dr. Weiss son-in-law of Judge Pavy had no gun on his person when he confronted Huey Long and hit him on the lip at 9:21 p.m. on Sept. 8 1935. For this act he died in a hail of bullets and the ensuing deception very nearly silenced for all time the truth of the event.
