The teaching and learning of the subject of Scientific Research Methodology (SRM) in the context in which this work is carried out does not seem to be producing the expected effects. In other words the percentage of students who manage to develop scientific research skills is very low. Scientific Research Methodology (SRM) is part of the curriculum of all social sciences courses in order to guarantee the student's insertion into the academic world from the first stage of their training (Rampazzo 2004 p.11). The academic world is usually something very new for students entering university for the first time. Therefore teaching and learning it requires the teacher and the student to exercise their minds to develop the culture and behavioural patterns necessary for scientific thinking (Paul & Elder 2002 p.19). The aim of this work is to propose an integrated approach to the teaching and learning of ICM in the social sciences. In addition this work aims to present a methodological proposal to make the teaching of ICM practical and accessible in social science courses.
