It is vitally important that those in the caring professions working with the elderly are aware of the capabilities and expectations of older people in this respect.

Originally published in 1984 different aspects of activity in relation to old age are examined in this book. These include not only physical exercise and occupational therapy activities but also activities of daily living leisure housework and shopping. An analysis is made of the attitudes of professional groups such as nurses to their elderly patients or clients.
