Adaptive Power Control Scheme for Base Stations in a Cellular Network

About The Book

With the increasing mobile users in a geographic cell the power consumption has increased to meet the demand while the limited infrastructure results in frequent call drops and poor QoS. Here we have proposed an alternate hybrid technology in favor for Green Communication which will calculate distance of the mobile station from the base station using a mathematical formulation for the pilot signals (TDOA method). Hence using a pathloss model (with necessary error corrections) for adapting the signal power gave positive results in the graphs which showed a decrease in power consumption while maintaining the signal strength at the same time in the different iterations of the proposed algorithm.
