Adsorption of N-Paraffins on Microporous Materials

About The Book

At the Landulpho Alves Refinery (BA) there is a unit for separating linear paraffins from refining streams that uses the vapor phase adsorption process and zeolite 5A as an adsorbent. The technology is from Union Carbide - ISOSIV Process. Few plants currently operate with this technology worldwide. The ISOSIV process was later replaced by others with greater efficiency and has not undergone any improvements since then. Companies that have paraffin separation plants with this technology should seek industrial improvements to maintain the quality and competitiveness of their products. In view of this problem this book addresses and discusses the adsorption properties of n-paraffins in the C10 to C13 range on AlPO4-17 and SAPO-18 as an alternative to zeolite 5A. The results presented in this book are the result of scientific research.
