Adventures Across Africa

<p><em>Adventures Across Africa</em> blends true survival with timeless African fables passed down through generations. It follows the remarkable journey of James Manyok Ayuen one of the Lost Boys of Sudan who fled civil war as a young child and walked more than a thousand miles with other displaced children seeking safety. Along the way the children kept hope alive by sharing the stories their families once told around the fire-funny wise and magical tales that taught them courage kindness and resilience.</p><p></p><p>In this first volume James retells favorites such as <em>The Tortoise and the Birds</em> <em>The Elephant and the Sly Fox</em> and <em>The Three Bulls and the Lion</em>. Readers will also learn Monyjang (Dinka) words and enjoy colorful illustrations created by Utah students.</p><p></p><p>James later rebuilt his life in the United States and founded African Independence Development (AID) a nonprofit bringing education and opportunity to children in South Sudan and throughout Africa.</p>
