Adverse Drug Reactions in the Oral Cavity

ADRs can be understood as a harmful unintended response related to the use of drugs. They usually occur at doses normally used for prophylaxis diagnosis treatment and/or modification of physiological function. The knowledge about adverse reactions is fundamental since they are a problem of enormous importance in clinical practice. In fact these are responsible for causing hospitalizations increasing hospital length of stay as well as substantially increasing morbidities. In addition they have a negative impact on the patient's quality of life leading to a loss of trust in health professionals. Adverse reactions associated with taking medications are common and can present a multiplicity of clinical manifestations in the oral cavity making it essential for physicians to be familiar with them.
