I've always considered myself a half-glass-empty type of person. Although this was a part of my personality I didn't particularly like that part of it. So instead of continuing with negative thoughts and little to no faith in things I decided to change the way I thought about life. Over the course of some years I received several journals as gifts that I didn't do much with. One day I counted the many journals I had received and noticed that I had at least ten of them. I decided to keep a particular one the gratitude journal. I am glad that I did because it has changed my life. What I loved most about it was that I could only write down positive thoughts. So no matter what occurred on the day that I journaled I could only notate the positive in my life. After journaling only positive words my thoughts became more positive as well. Not only did I start having more positive thoughts but I also started living a more positive and purpose-filled life. I started daily Pilates and yoga routines started scheduling more vacations for myself and became more conscientious of what I ate. Journaling changed my life in a way by making me want everything in my life to be more positive. I became more self-centered. What I mean by that is I started making greater efforts to make myself happy which in turn allows me to be kinder to those around me. I am a true work in progress.
