AFGHAN CAMPAIGNS OF 1878 1880BIOGRAPHICAL DIVISION

The Biographical Division ( or volume) of a 2-vol. history of the 1878-80 Afghan War. This volume has the photographs of 140 officers who fell in the campaign and of those who were recipients of the Victoria Cross as a reward for their heroism. Here too are memoirs of the officers who died which the author prepared from materials submitted to him by the families and surviving comrades of those who fell. Together the 2-volume set is a fine memorial to those who lost their life in this colonial war.
