It has been said that Afghanistan is the Graveyard of Empires with a history of 5000 years. It is also said that it has just reached a hundred year's occupation of successive invasions by Great Britain the Soviet Union and NATO along with the United States of America. As a landlocked country Afghanistan is known as the Heart of Asia and has been a battlefield for the foibles of first-world countries for many decades.
