Africa as a European construct

About The Book

Henning Mankell and Karen Blixen are Scandinavian authors who have devoted themselves to Africa. While Henning Mankell spent half of each year in Africa and Sweden Karen Blixen lived in Africa for eighteen years. Both authors' experiences with the African continent and its inhabitants influenced their works. Through his perspective on Africa Henning Mankell raises the question of whether Africa can be seen as a European construct.
