While she doesn't like her betrothed she's convinced herself it's her duty to tolerate him.</p><p></p><p>When Maëlle receives devastating personal news that makes her situation with her fiancé unsafe she flees on her owl gryphon to the mountains-and into Talos's life. As the gentle stone man and the strong vibrant woman discover truths about themselves and each other they feel the budding promise of something new something bigger and more lasting than the mountains. But to embrace their happiness together they'll need to overcome Maëlle's obligations the censure of Talos's brother and most importantly their own insecurities.</p>
