Montgomery Williams has closed more Broadway shows with his vicious reviews than Billy Sunday closed night clubs. Now two big things happen in Monty's life. He discovers he has a thirty-five year old musical writing son whose shows were also closed by the battering ram of the Great White Way and more importantly he faces a tumor in his head that threatens his life. Monty decides that while he waits for the timing of the delicate surgery he wants to write the libretto of a new musical with Alex and his lover Gabe a musical genius.
