<p>The short-story is one of the most important literary subgenres in Urdu literature despite its relative youth. This was influenced by western and literary concepts and tendencies as well as the contemporary industrial and mechanized environment. Prof Hamidi Kashmiri is a well known Urdu poet writer educationist and former Vice-Chancellor of Kashmir University. In his stories he has attempted to evoke some of the emotional struggles and psychological confusions of the fleeting life of modern man.
