<p>From his humble beginnings as a trainee mechanic at a West London garage John Cresswell later discovered his latent talents for the game of business and became a hugely successful entrepreneur. However he still mourns the loss of his first wife and mentor the raven-haired Laura to whom he was devoted. Despite a knighthood and a subsequent successful second marriage to the aristocratic Eleanor Sir John considers he has never been fully accepted into the British Establishment.</p><p></p><p>The Government has now asked Sir John to lead a large and floundering British State-owned airline corporation.
