The first-person narration gave a clear view of what went through Aisling's mind with each new challenge. I share Aisling's view that her mother's fixation with witchcraft left her vulnerable and neglected. The smooth transitions from one event to another were easy to follow and provided a basic timeline. The details were vivid especially with the surroundings in the forest. I could imagine the lush foliage and walking along the paths winding through the trees. The detailed descriptions of the different mythical creatures were fascinating. The end of the story left a clear opening for a sequel. Aisling: In the Land of Wolves was complex and exciting. Eileen Sheehan intertwined romance and the paranormal. I was hooked from the first page. It was easy to be part of the world of magic love and danger that was created. The story was fast-paced and packed with action. With all the twists and turns I never knew what would happen next. Some of the events were graphic and violent. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. The role-players were well-developed and authentic. My favorite character was Aisling. She started as a teenager who was bullied and became a fearless and self-assured woman. The story was brilliantly written and it exceeded my expectations by far.</p>
