Born in Chile in 1927 and naturalized Peruvian since the 1950s Jodorowsky traced an oniric and magic-realist poetic work that marked an essential connection between the American beat generation and the Latin American avant-garde. At the same time the bilingual poetry journal El Corno Emplumado (1962-1969) directed by Margaret Randall and Sergio Mondragón planted the seeds of a global mass poetic exchange at the birth of the student movement in the 1960s. This facsimile edition of Ajy Tojen celebrates the legacy of both Jodorowsky and El Corno preserving the integrity of a historical artifact that informs us about the past present and future of Latin America.
