Alexithymia and Music Therapy: parent-child sound workshop

About The Book

This book presents my research for the end of my studies in music therapy. Within the framework of an associative music school I retrace the creation of a parent-child sound workshop for babies from 0 to 3 years old and their parents during a school year. The theme of emotions is central with the notion of alexithymia (inability to express emotions verbally) as well as that of the mother-baby relationship that is established in the sound workshop through the constituent elements of music. I approach the subject from a theoretical point of view and then from a practical point of view in view of my teaching in psychology and my professional experiences in many fields. A case study allows me to approach the subject with a more clinical approach. Finally this path brings some answers interesting insights on music therapy today pedagogy mother-baby relationships and of course this work ends with a lot of questions and openings because nothing is ever finished...
