All About Insects

<p>Insects are a group of small animals that form the largest group in the animal kingdom.</p><p> They have three body segments (head thorax and abdomen) three pairs of legs and two antennae. Insects play an essential role in many ecosystems including pollination decomposition and predation. Insects have adaptations that allow them to survive in a variety of environments from deserts to tropical forests. Their exoskeletons are hard and protect them from the elements while their wings help them fly. Some insects have behaviors that help them avoid danger such as camouflage mimicry and warning coloration.</p><p>Insects are an important source of food for many animals including birds mammals and other insects. They are also important pollinators helping to spread pollen between plants.</p>
