Allergic Contact Dermatitis in Dentistry

Various dental material used from diagnosis to rehabilitation for the management of oral and dental diseases may contain different allergens that poses a potential risk to dentist patient and dental staff. With increasing demand for cosmetic dentistry use of materials like resins bleaches and adhesives have increased. These materials and many more similar materials used in dentistry contain allergens that are found to cause allergic Contact Dermatitis. As newer materials are being introduced it is advisable to check their allergic potential before use.
