I Pradip Kiran Nath born in 1947. I spent my childhood in Howrah. I grew up and graduated in Mathematics from Calcutta University. About forty years of my working life were spent in “Indian Ordnance Factories” in different states of India.The habit of writing poetry is from childhood. First wrote for the Dewal Patrika. I used to write poetry even in college. Friends used to listen to something. I read the poem composed at the college farewell meeting. Bengali professor liked my poem. Some colleagues published my poems in their local newspapers. I did not try much to get published in the Calcutta newspaper on my own.I liked the poems of many other poets. Especially Rabithakur Jibanananda Michael Satyendranath Bishnu Dey and many others. Sometimes I have also covered poetry in cultural events of the neighborhood.Stayed in Ichapur Nagpur Jabalpur and Ambernath for work. Every year I used to contribute poetry to the newspaper published there during Durga Puja. My poetry has also been published in the Nagpur Bengali Sangh newspaper.Poems are written in the emotional conflict of different times or in the news published in the newspaper. I have written some poems before and after. Either writing on the spur of the moment – ​​on the demand of the poem or on the spur of the emotional moment. I have translated my own Bengali poetry into English as much as possible. Many friends who heard it praised and asked to publish it as a book of poetry. At various times due to the busyness of office work abroad and lack of opportunity to print in Bengali timely arrangements were not made. My daughter Smt. Shabri has arranged the publication of the poems as a book with tireless efforts in the busy schedule of her office and family. I bless her for this. May her efforts be worthwhile. That will be corrected later if possible.I hope my first book of poetry Alpona about three hundred poems collected will be able to entertain the readers.
