Aluminium Metal Matrix Composite Reinforced with Fly Ash

Major factor for the technological development of materials is the improvement of composite materials. Composite materials constitute a big step towards optimizing materials. The construction industry demands materials with better mechanical properties (weight strength hardness etc.). This book presents basic data of metal matrix composites (MMC) reinforcing materials producing methods mechanical properties and applications of MMC. The research is conducted and presented about the production and study of a composite material using experiment methods. These experiments used aluminium matrix composites reinforced with fly ash in different percentages. The microstructure of AMC samples was examined with the use of optical microscope while the structure of composite material with an electronic microscope (SEM). Finally a hardness test was performed in order to compare the different samples.
