About The Book
Description
Author
The well-written novel Ambu Patty loudly says that love and passion can break even hard nuts. The novel itself presents a few such people like Veeravelu Prabakar Bose Selvi and Velu. The author has knitted a few incidents over about 60 years to tell the story of Kamatchi. The Keelvenmani tragedy Coimbatore Bomb Blasts and the Indo-Pak war for Bangla Desh are nicely connected together in the novel. Making these different dis-joint events impact a single womans life can be wished away as poetic justice. Keelvenmani tragedy and the Indo-Pak War are described in detail by the author vouching that he has done a good amount of research for writing this. Any reader of this Chapter will feel as if he/she is on the war front itself. The author deserves a special appreciation for this. The description of the short meeting of Veeravelu with Nammazhvar in the novel could have been avoided as it appears as if it was wantonly infused in the novel. The change in the pleasant behaviour of the village people particularly the Tea Shop owner and the urchins around Kamatchi within the short duration of the first visit by Prabakar and later by the Bank PRO is surprising. The novel is written in the lucid language in a racy manner. Any reader will read the novel in one go. All the best to the author. - Dr S Ganesan
