Amelie Visits Maine

If this is the best of possible worlds what then are the others? Voltaire Being exiled to rural Maine for her entire summer vacation is not what an eight-year-old girl from New York City considers fun. But when Amelie experiences this Arcadian bliss with her Grandma her life is changed. Amelie is a typical third grade girl living in New York City and rooted in the urban culture of skyscrapers traffic and commercialism. When confronted with her visit to Grandma''s home in rural Maine she begins to recognize and witness the beauty and simplicity of living close to nature. As her visit continues through her summer vacation she comes to the realization that different environments have unique and valuable qualities.
