This book covers the period from the end or the Revolutionary War to the middle of the 19th Century. The chapters cover the Washington and Jefferson administrations the War of 1812 and some Indian Wars as well as a series of fascinating well-known characters of the period. The recommended reading age is 8-12 and the chapters are short with black and white illustrations providing a wonderful introduction to American history.
