An ancient text we forget to acknowledge - The Indriya Sth��na

The Indriya Sthāna of Caraka Samhitā is an Authentic Scientific and relevant ĀptopDeśa and hence no intelligent person should question its significance. It is very important to understand the Prakŗti and Vikŗti before studying the Arişţa. Though all the Arişţa Lakşaņās given in Indriya Sthāna can not be examined by the modern parameters still they are found in the patients and are quite significant. More the number of Arişţa in a person the more is the Nityatva (certainty) of Arişţa therefore chances of fatality are more in cases with more number of Arişţa. The group of Arişţa Lakşaņās related to Prāņa and Udāna Vāyu and Śirās were found to be the more significant groups of Arişţa as far as the Arişţa Lakşaņa and fatality is concerned according the case study. The Arişţa related to Śvāsa and Murchā were observed in a higher proportion in both the type of Groups. Classifying Arişţa with different aspects helps in better understanding of prognosis of the patient. The Indriya Sthāna has a major role in the field of medicine as it is very important for the Medico legal aspect of the field of medicine as well as in planning a better treatment plan for the patient.
