An Anthology and Approach to Ear Training

Developing the musical ear is a necessary requirement in the training of professional musicians. This book teaches how to analyze sounds of melody and rhythm and to reproduce those sounds in performance (singing/hand clapping) and written notation. It utilizes an approach of catchy tunes (tunes that easily get stuck in your head) to learn the basic components of melody and rhythm. The exercises are intended for an instructor's use teaching a beginning course in ear training.
