An Assessment on the Causes of High Suicidal Instances of Kerala State

Kerala achieved tremendous progress in technological and infrastructural fields. And Kerala is number one in educational and health sectors. But the incidences and rate of suicides in the state have been rising steadily since 1995 and got the first rank in the number of suicides among the states in India. The question raises here is why Kerala shows pronounced self-destructive tendencies? So this is a qualitative assessment of the Causes of suicides in Kerala by taking the cases of particular Panchayath of Kerala called ''Karunapuram'' in Idukki District.
