An English View

Notwithstanding the claims of Western civilization to the contrary East has been the cradle of philosophical thought and birth place of religions over times immemorial. The Sages of the East propounded concepts like Law of Karma Reincarnation Pre-existence of Soul Cycles of Birth-Death-Rebirth etc. The Occident then was struggling to resolve imaginary ideas of Heaven and Hell Resurrection and Ascension Virgin Birth Sin religious bigotry and heretical deviations et al. Giordano Bruno (1548-1600) a devout Christian monk was put on the stake as late as 1600 C.E. His crime: He believed in and preached the Doctrine of Reincarnation! The image of savagery prevailing in Western thought process was thus magnified. A whiff of fresh air blew in from the East bringing in its wake sophisticated philosophical thoughts which enveloped the Western World in a matter of couple of centuries. These concepts provided the essential basis towards rationalization of philosophical dilemmas then devouring the West. This Book is an attempt to provide a level playing field for spiritual advancement of mankind as a whole rather than keeping high philosophy as the domain of the East. Spread of Buddhist ideology in Americas and Europe has gone a long way in making the task easier.
