An examination of the nexus between school management and governance

The book seeks to broaden the thin line between school management and governance that is frequently crossed by both parties to achieve their ulterior motives. This is rampant where both leadership and management are conspicuous by their absence. In most schools the school management team would mischievously formulate school policy e.g admission policy which they know is not their call but that of the school governance. In the same vain the school governors would trend in the terrain of the school management team and find itself reprimanding a teacher for under-performance or incapacity. When this happens unabated the school is likely to become dysfunctional which leads to under-performance. The very school management team and school governing body are likely to fight and when they are on each other''s throat learners are the likely to be on the receiving end. They say when two elephants fight the grass suffers so is the case in such schools academic performance suffers and learners under-perform.
