An Exploration of Chronotype Variance in Narrative and Storytelling
English

About The Book

The interaction of time and space in narrative and storytelling is often complex. Mikhail Bakhtin unifies these two central elements into the theory of a chronotype. This idea will be applied to demonstrate how chronotype varies within different mediums including graphic novels motion media and film. Illustrations from films will be used to discuss variances in these art forms and how the observer is able to interact with the medium depending upon its classification as a narrative or storytelling form.
