An Exploration of Police Officer Perceptions of Information Sharing

In a post 9/11 world the management of police intelligence is crucial to the protection of public safety. Advances in technology and a society that has become not only information fluent but information sharing dependent reflect some of the changes in information sharing since the terrorist attack in 2001. This study takes a look at the perceptions of patrol officers with respect to how much information they are getting the quality of that information and how it affects their lived experiences on the job.
