Originally published in 1904 this book presents a critical discussion of the Book of Ecclesiastes with additional notes on select passages and an English translation. The text was written with two key aims in mind: ''firstly to disentangle the strands which go to form the ''three-fold cord'' of the writing; and secondly to estimate the position which Koheleth occupied with regard to the religious and philosophical thought of his day''.
