An Investigation on True Tensile Strength of Concrete

The objective of this study is to recommend a direct method for obtaining the tensile strength of concrete. The tensile strength is an elusive parameter which has bewildered researchers around the globe since only indirect methods have been employed for its determination up to date. These methods though widely accepted and utilized do not furnish the true tensile strength of concrete. Hence a need was felt to devise a new test for this purpose.
