An Overcast Sky & A Broken Road

<p>Just north of Khartoum</p><p> </p><p> adrift for now</p><p>one song follows another</p><p>one moment indistinguishable</p><p>from the next</p><p>beyond the movements</p><p>the pauses</p><p>of my fingers on the keyboard</p><p>it is a bliss</p><p>not knowing what comes next</p><p>there are so many words</p><p>and songs to occupy me</p><p>if my words run out</p><p>in my old age</p><p>I drift</p><p>and remember</p><p>when I ran</p><p>where I walked</p><p>the trees I climbed</p><p>the people I loved</p><p>and it's all one life</p><p>a huge picture</p><p>not just a memory</p><p>but a river</p><p>that keeps moving</p><p>and I haven't found the end</p><p>not yet</p><p>maybe it's circling around</p><p>to a place</p><p>where I'll begin again</p><p>(completed on a Sunday the fifth day of May 2024)</p>
