Analyses of Crime Incidences on Transport Facilities in Ibadan City

This work is an original research about the burgeoning occurrences of crime incidences on transport facilities in a metropolitan city of sub-Sahara Africa.Globally transport infrastructure due to its ubiquitous nature is a platform that provide nexus among all classes of citizens and this unique characteristics is often exploited by criminal elements. In sub-Sahara Africa public transport system is bedeviled with different types of problems among which is the increasing wave of criminal activities. This research examined the incidences of crime on bus-stops within Ibadan metropolis in Nigeria. Police records and primary data from respondents were used in analyzing the spatio-temporal variation in the incidences of criminal activities in the selected parks between 2003 and 2008. The book is ideal for undergraduate courses in transportation urban planning crime studies and policy making on urbanization in developing countries generally and particularly in sub-Saharan Africa.
