Analysis of Arabic-English Newspapers Translation Problems

This book aims at analyzing and evaluating journalistic translation from Arabic into English. It takes Al-Ahram Weekly (an Egyptian newspaper) as an example and explores its translation for a number of selected articles written by Abdel Moneim Said in different Egyptian newspapers especially Al-Masry Al-Youm and Asharq Al-Awsat. The author focuses on problems facing journalist-translator and evaluates translated articles in terms of general features and strategies of journalistic translation. Moreover this book explores different methods and strategies used in journalistic translation that is why it can be considered as a reference book for students of translation journalist- translators and scholars concerned with translation in general and journalistic translation in particular.
