About The Book

Tuberculois is a disease that existed from primitive era and has learnt to coexist with humans that is why it is still very difficult to imagine TB free world. TB is predominant in developing countries and India leads with one fifth of global TB burden but surprisingly with very high relapse rate. Our study was designed to know the factors that affects patients of chronic pulmonary TB. Low education status of the population poverty drug resistance comorbidities Inadequate drugs are causes that lead to drug default in maximum patients. Drug resistance leads to chronicity and reasons were patient unawareness long duration of treatment and financial problem of the patient symptomatic relief by anti tubercular therapy social stigma poor drug supply all led to high drug resistance. Looking at all above causes RNTCP needs to strengthen program so that all cases of TB should complete treatment and make world TB Free.
