Analysis of views on the cause of tooth decay

Caries is one of the oldest diseases on earth. It is a medical and social problem that affects all segments of the population in both developed and developing countries. It is no exaggeration to call dental caries the problem of the century. For several centuries scientists have been trying to find the cause of this pathology. Today many people consider caries to be a polyethiological disease. Our work is devoted to the analysis of various theories of caries occurrence based on early and modern studies and is intended for dental students.
