Analytical method for analysis of biocides from textile on LC-DAD

About The Book

A rapid method was developed for detecting biocides in textiles that come into direct contact with human skin as recently regulated biocides lack validated testing methods. The method focuses on analyzing four biocides: MIT CIT OIT and Triclosan. Textile samples were extracted using methanolic sonication purified through centrifugation and filtration and analyzed using a C18 column with 0.4% acetic acid: methanol (1:1 v/v) under isocratic conditions at 280 nm wavelength. Extraction parameters were optimized and the calibration curve showed strong linearity (r² ? 0.9995) in the range of 1.0-5.0 mg L?¹. The method demonstrated high recoveries (95%-108%) with relative standard deviations ? 4% while LODs and LOQs ranged from 0.06-0.12 mg L?¹ and 0.21-0.38 mg L?¹ respectively. The results confirmed the method's reliability for quantitative detection in real textile samples.
