ANALYTICAL PSYCHOLOGY is the school of psychotherapy and deep mental analysis founded by Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung (C.G. Jung). Developed after his 1912 split from Sigmund Freud, it views the human mind as inherently striving for wholeness and balances individual experience with universal cultural symbolism. A deep, inherited layer of the unconscious mind shared by all human beings contains ancestral memories and universal evolutionary traits.
