Anesthesia for Carotid Endarterectomy

This book summarizes the international experience of using different types of anesthesia for the surgical treatment of carotid artery lesions. Currently the main options of anesthesia for carotid surgery include general anesthesia regional anesthesia and combined anesthesia. The book presents the advantages and disadvantages of each anesthetic approach. At present the choice of anesthesia is usually determined collectively by a group of experts depending on the specific clinical situation the preferences and possibilities of the medical institution and the patient’s consent.
