Another Big Bang: Evolution of Civilisation. Freedom All The Way

Even 12000 years ago our ancestors were living in forests off hunting and gathering as livelihood options. Now we are planning to settle on Mars. How could this feat be achieved? Santanu was always interested in this question. In the search for an answer he has attempted to come up with a multi-disciplinary unifying theory of evolution of human civilisation which says that our civilisation had been born and evolved due to the urge in hominin brains for individual freedom. Santanu Mitra an Indian Economic Service (IES) [and an ex-Indian Ordnance Factories Service (ex-IOFS)] officer in the Government of India is currently posted as Senior Economic Adviser in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. He had a brief stint of 8 months as a journalist in the ABP Group before joining the Government in September 1993. He had done his Hons. Graduation in Economics from the then Presidency College (now Presidency University) Calcutta (Kolkata) in 1990 after passing out his Secondary Examination from Hooghly Collegiate School Chinsurah Hooghly West Bengal India and Higher Secondary Examination from St. Xavier’s College (now St. Xavier’s University) Calcutta. He is also an alumnus of the Indian School of Business with a one-year PG Course in Public Policy (AMPPP). He has been involved in planning and formulation of public policy for more than two decades. He has three Bengali books to his credit.
