ANTENNA ARRAYS DESIGN TECHNIQUES

One of the primary necessities in any long distance or satellite communication setup is the utilization of highly directional antennas. Within satellite communication systems interference sources persist due to the use of multiple satellites and terrestrial signals which can degrade the performance of both the satellite system and the base station. Hence there is a requirement for directive antennas with exceptionally low Side Lobe Level (SLL) to mitigate interference from undesired sources. The principal objective of this book is to introduce innovative approaches to array antenna design aimed at enhancing performance in terms of dimensions Half Power Beam Width (HPBW) and SLL. These methods involve employing arrays with carefully spaced or weighted elements thereby adjusting the desired beam pattern of the array in conjunction with utilizing specialized element antennas.
