About The Book

Aparajita Stuti is a part of a popular religious text of Sanatana Dharma - Durga Saptashati also known as Devi Mayatmya which in turn is part of an ancient text called Markandeya Purana a collection of prayers and mythological tales written by Sage Markandeya. As a text Durga Saptashati essentially tells the story of the Primordial Mother Ma Adishakti (the energy that created this universe). When demonic forces overrun the kingdom of Earth and start threatening the virtuous Mother comes to their rescue. Abandoning her gentle and benevolent form She dons her fierce ferocious mantle and sets out to vanquish evil. A Sanskrit text of extraordinary poetic beauty the Durga Saptashati is recited by Hindu Devotees in its entirety during Navratri - a nine-day festival celebrating the glory of Mother twice a year. On a daily basis though the entire text is too long to read. Thus they pick some of the prayers from its preamble to recite instead. Saptashloki Durga Devi Kavacham Argala Stotram and Aparajita Stuti. What sets the current text apart is its universality and its repetitive verse which is easy to memorize.
