Application of ICT in Management of Information Resources and Services

With the growth in the use of ICTs to support information handling within organizations the political nature of information has come into sharper focus. In this regard information professionals which librarians are one have become highly powerful and respected in the management of every organization.The application and diffusion of information and communication technology cannot be viewed in isolation from development in telecommunication technology.this study concentrates on the following objectives: identifying the types of data/information are created/generated in Kashim Ibrahim Library Ahmadu Bello University Zaria exploring the type of ICT devices are available for management of information in Kashim Ibrahim Library evaluating the type of ICT facilities are used in management of information in Kashim Ibrahim Library examining the extent that the Information Communication Technology devices being used for management of information in Kashim Ibrahim Library finding the reasons are information generated used in Kashim Ibrahim Library and exploring the problems encountered in the use of ICT devices for management of information in Kashim Ibrahim LibraryABUZaria
