Historically one of the ancient industries in this world is tanning industry. Archaeological studies have confirmed that the leather materials were being used even in ancient times. In the tanning process of raw hides highly decayable material is converted into a stable material called leather which can be conserved for a longer period of time and has an important marketable significance. Sialkot industrial estate of Pakistan is facing serious environmental problems due to discharge of toxic tannery waste liquors into Nullah Aik open lands and river. The threat of ecological contamination and corruption emerging from these businesses is widespread to the point that introduction to dangerous wastewater releases is very nearly an unavoidable component all through Sialkot. The related environmental and health effects which have already been spelled out earlier are thus worsening.
