Aquatic Macroinvertebrates and leaf litter processing

Tropical streams are ecosystems under constant threat by the degradation of riparian vegetation and a biodiversity still unknown may be lost. Studies on macroinvertebrates especially regarding habitat characterization biological and ecological relationships of immature stages are important to understand and protect these ecosystems. The objective of this work was to know the fauna of aquatic macroinvertebrates associated with submerged litter in streams of Serra Bonita Cantá - RR aiming to understand which groups participate in the processing of allochthonous organic matter.
