Sea surface temperature (SST) play an important role in climate change particularly natural hazards. Monitoring SST could help to prepare for upcoming sea induced hazard like the tropical cyclone. Studies found a positive correlation between SST and the intensity of tropical cyclones. There lie a minimum threshold for the occurrence of tropical cyclones varying in different seas and should be known regionally. In addition the warmer summer SST is one of the triggering factors of heavy monsoon. Therefore it is necessary to monitor SST regularly in future to help concern authorities (e.g. disaster management authorities) to cope natural hazards.
