Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi A Boon for Agriculture

Rhizosphere of economically important crops from six different localities of Baglan area (Nasik District) has been surveyed for VAM fungi. The localities surveyed were Satana Mulane Munjwad Nampur Taharabad and Thengode. The plants selected for VAM studies were pomegranate grape vine sugarcane wheat pearl millet maize green gram black gram chick pea and onion. The different aspects were studied which include number of spores per 10 gm of rhizosphere soil percentage infection of roots most probable number physical and chemical analysis of soil and ecological correlations and taxonomy of VAM fungi.
